This week, we stepped into the studio at Eden Court to begin creating THE PANIC ROOM—PCK Dance’s most ambitious production to date.
A gripping new full-length psychological dance narrative, the work draws audiences into the unsettling world of a novelist battling between what he has written and what he is living.
Bringing together extraordinary physical performance, fractured dialogue, an original score and a room that physically transforms around its characters, THE PANIC ROOM receives its world premiere at Eden Court on Saturday 12th September 2026.

A NEW HIGHLAND HOME
THE PANIC ROOM is the first major production created following PCK’s appointment as Resident Dance Company of Eden Court Theatre.
For Co-Artistic Director James Pett, the residency marks a return to the building where he first began dancing as a teenager.
From our new Highland home, we will create ambitious new productions, open opportunities for artists and audiences, and strengthen the connection between the Highlands and the international dance world.
FIVE WEEKS OF FREE COMPANY CLASS
This August and September, dancers aged 16+ with previous dance experience are invited to train alongside PCK’s professional performers during the creation of THE PANIC ROOM.
Classes are completely free and places are available during:

Monday 10th–Saturday 15th August
Monday 17th–Saturday 22nd August
Monday 31st August–Saturday 5th September
Monday 7th–Saturday 12th September

STEP INSIDE THE CREATIVE PROCESS
FREE EMERGING-ARTIST SHADOW PROGRAMME
We are opening the doors to a small number of emerging dance artists who would like to experience the creation and production of THE PANIC ROOM from inside the company.
OPTION ONE: CREATIVE RESIDENCY
Monday 10th–Saturday 22nd August
Join us during the heart of the creative process. Take company class, observe rehearsals and experience how movement, characters and ideas are developed inside the studio.
OPTION TWO: FINAL REHEARSAL AND PRODUCTION RESIDENCY
Monday 31st August–Saturday 12th September
Follow the production from its final studio rehearsals into the OneTouch Theatre. Experience company class, repertoire, dramaturgical rehearsals, lighting, staging and technical production—culminating in the world premiere.
Both opportunities are completely free. Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and living expenses.
